The Most Dog-Friendly Town in Colorado (We’re Not Biased)
Crested Butte might be the most dog-friendly town in Colorado, and locals will tell you that's not up for debate. Dogs ride the free shuttle, lounge on patios, and outnumber people on some trails.
The etiquette is simple: keep them close in town, pick up after them, and know which trails require leashes. Do that, and your dog will be welcomed practically everywhere — many shops keep treat jars on the counter.
For off-leash energy burning, the lower benches and Snodgrass area are local favorites, and the rec path between town and Mt. Crested Butte is a perfect morning walk with views the whole way.
